Cafe Topes in Carlsbad

I had a wonderful experience at Café Topes! I suggest getting there early, I got there before 8 am on a Saturday. There was plenty of seating and food came out quickly. The employee behind the counter was very kind of service oriented, and the waiter who brought the food was kind and helpful. Food was delicious and service was excellent!

Delicious food and vibe. You order first before sitting but don't worry, everyone finds a seat. Country steak is good, thin and flavorful with crunchy hash browns. If you want something heavier, get the crack and eggs or steak and eggs, super good and rich, will leave you in food coma. The burrito is a good choice if you want something you can cleanly eat just half of and take the rest home.Coffee is solid, Mexican latte was good but not too sweet.The cinnamon is freshly baked and not sweet at all, we got the non dirty version (which is just extra icing).

Wow. Loved our brunch here today. There was a line that was barely out the door that moved pretty quick. We were able to find a cozy table for 7 in the corner. I got the C.T. bacon steak which was like two super thick pieces of bacon. Not overly seasoned or flavored so you could appreciate the meat itself. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Hash browns were super crispy. We got the cinnamon buns which were not overly sweet and perfectly doughy. The crab Benedict came with way more crab than expected which was a major plus! Would come here all the time if I lived by.

Café Topes is a must have when visiting Carlsbad, Ca. I live in Michigan but visit the area often! Being over 2,000 miles away, I think about Café Topes all the time and miss their food so much! The Nutella pancakes did it for me, now I'm sold for life! The place is always booming, sometime hard to snag a table, but it takes time and patience. I love it here! I'll be back Café Topes -- and I can't wait!! 😁

Great find for brunch right in the Carlsbad village. As a vegan it's not always easy to find good food or a restaurant that is open to whipping up something for me. I was very happy when they were able to indulge me. They do have plenty of vegetarian options as well...I also loved their cappuccino, very smooth and enjoyable. Will definitely be returning to this spot!

One of the absolute best places for brunch in north county. Any and all brunch food is delicious. I love their scrambles, pancakes, and their French-press coffee. Food is ordered up front and then brought out to you in record time, fresh and hot. Staff members are friendly and very accommodating. Vibe is very relaxed, and a good walk post-brunch is highly recommended! FYI they do not serve alcohol.
